At our fifth chamber concert, we invite our audience to our nearly traditional Latin American evening. For the first time at the festival, we will feature Portuguese-born flutist Adriana Ferreira, principal flutist of the world-renowned Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome and the winner of the 2010 Carl Nielsen International Flute Competition in Denmark. Also returning as a guest artist is the inspired and sensitive Hungarian flutist Noémi Győri. In this concert, almost all of the faculty members from the MiraTone Academy will participate, creating a true gala concert atmosphere. We will enjoy music inspired by Argentine, Brazilian, and Mexican folklore, including the world-famous tangos of Astor Piazzolla, alongside similarly brilliant works by Camargo Guarneri, Alberto Ginastera, and Manuel Ponce.
